How does a Kids Yoga class look like?

Yoga is a wonderful way for children to learn basic awareness of their body & mind, get familiar with breathing exercises also useful for their other activities like swimming, and get started with basic yoga postures for strength and flexibility. 

The classes are 30-45 mins, the flow looks roughly as follows:

– 5-10 mins – introduction, warming up, short mindfulness exercise (with or without music)

– 20-25 mins – kids yoga practice based on a yoga story. Yoga story is a story in which the personages/events are presented with the help of various yoga poses. Each lesson there is a new episode. Together with the children we go through the episode step by step, using whatever yoga moves I have created to support that particular episode.  

At the moment I am offering 2 different types of  yoga stories – Ninja Yoga and Frozen Yoga.  An episode would be for instance ‘Ninja and his Animal friends’, or ‘Elsa and Anna at the ball’ and so on.

– 5-10 mins – short relaxation (with or without music)

– if time allows, we would do a short mindful activity, for instance origami or colouring.

Practical Info

Currently I offer Kids Yoga to kids ages 4-8, in groups of max 5 kids.

The location can be my house, your house or nature (eg. beach).

First 2 classes are for Free, afterwards its 10 euro per lesson for all kids.

Latest Spring 2022! During March and April 2022 I offer free Kids Yoga classes at the Trefpunt Center, Tesselsestraat 71, 2583JH The Hague. The dates are – Monday’s 21, 28 of March and 4, 11 of April at 16hrs. Everyone is welcome, please do register in advance via the contact number.
